Caring for Your Marble: A Complete Guide
Daily Cleaning
Wipe marble surfaces with a soft, damp cloth and a pH-neutral stone cleaner. Avoid acidic cleaners (vinegar, lemon juice, most bathroom sprays) which etch the surface and dull the polish.
Protecting Against Stains
Marble is porous and can absorb liquids. Always use coasters under glasses and clean spills immediately by blotting (never wiping) with a clean cloth. For polished marble, we recommend a quality impregnating sealer applied every 12–18 months.
Removing Etching
If acidic liquids have left a dull mark (etch), a marble polishing powder can restore the shine for minor damage. Deep etches require professional re-polishing.
Storage and Handling
When not in use, store marble objects wrapped in soft cloth or bubble wrap — not touching each other, as marble can chip other marble. Always lift marble pieces; never drag them.
